This article could be longer than the bible and there could be as many steps as the 1665 steps up the Eiffel Tower, but we have condensed ours down to 4 tips to making positive a positive change.
With the recent lockdown we have all had to become accustomed to some changes whether that is positive or negative these have pretty much been against our will; now is the time you can start considering changes that are your own.
So here are our 4 tips…
So what is your reason for the change? There is always a reason for the change you want to make and not because you want to lose weight or you want to get paid more money, you must explore why you want those things.
Let’s look at the losing weight example, this is something personally that I have experienced myself on a number of occasions throughout my journey of life. What is it about losing weight that is so important, is it because when you look in the mirror you are unhappy? Or because someone has commented on your appearance? Is it because you want to compete in sport or become a faster runner?
Having a plan means that you have something to follow and something to fall back on when the evitable happens and we have a bad day.
How to plan is often a question that gets asked, well there is no one shoe fits all however there are some steps that will help with the planning stage.
Step 1 is where you are now, physically and mentally.
Step 2-102 is the little goals along the way to the end goal.
Step 3-103 is where you want to be at the end, ultimately the goal and again consider where you would like to be physically and mentally.
There will be bumps in the road in any positive changes you make in life and this is down to our inability to control anything outside of what we can do and think so expect there to be steps forwards and steps backwards but always revisit WHY.
Support Network –
When executing a positive change in life its 100% you that accountable however it’s very important to surround yourself with people who support you and are positive minded people.
Negative people will always set out to crush the dreams and goals of an aspiring person so it’s really important to where possible to cut these out or reduce your interaction with them as this will help when you have those days when life kicks you in the face.
So find those that can support your journey and give you words of encouragement and leave behind those who say you can’t or won’t.
The single most important factor in creating positive change is the mindset. It is also the hardest factor to find and maintain however. One important thing to remember when it comes to mindset is that you can only control what is controllable and the rest needs to become irrelevant.
So for example you’re on top of the world, you are achieving those little goals and the big goal is in sight, suddenly you are faced with a family member becoming ill or a financial crisis. Things that are out of our control but can turn your world upside down if you let it, do you need to change your route to change, absolutely not however it may take a little longer. The important thing is to keep following the plan, keep surrounding yourself with positive people and if you are struggling then talk.
